Who are the best FPL players for Double Gameweek 20? Four-time top 1k and six-time top 5k finisher Abdul Rehman uses the Hub's Opta, Prediction, Comparison and Fixture tools to identify the best Fantasy Premier League players.
Fixture: Manchester United (a) and Spurs (H)
Manchester City have a tough Double Gameweek in 20, but they are the best defence in the league, and are the most likely team to keep at least one clean sheet this week.
John Stones is looking like City’s most nailed defender right now, and the one most likely to start both games.
City take on rivals United and Spurs in their double. They are at 35% and 42% to keep a clean sheet respectively, which puts them at a 62% chance of keeping at least one clean sheet (first).
Pep Guardiola's team have conceded 16 goals (third) with an xGC of 15.9 (first) and are clearly one of the best defences in the league. I would be confident they finish the season with the most clean sheets and least goals conceded.
Stones also has some attacking threat. He has two assists so far and five goals in his last two seasons. He is a definite threat on corners and free-kicks.
Our Points Prediction Tool has him as the highest predicted scoring defender (7.8 points) for Double Gameweek 20.
John Stones Stats
Fixture: Manchester City (H) and Crystal Palace (a)
Marcus Rashford now has seven goals and three assists in 15 league starts. He has an Expected Goals (xG) of 7.04 and has created 10 chances with an xA of 3.36.
Manchester United now sit fourth in the league with a game in hand, and it's clear they have improved vastly, both going forward and in defence.
They come up against Manchester City and Crystal Palace in Double Gameweek 20, and I can see them scoring in both games. United are getting better as the season is going on, and have now scored 27 goals (seventh) with an xG of 31.83 (sixth).
Their first fixture against City will no doubt be tough, but they do have the home advantage. The game against Palace should be much simpler as the Eagles have conceded 25 goals (thirteenth) with an xGC of 26.8 (eleventh).
Rashford has established himself this season as one of Erik Ten Hag’s most trusted players, and is no doubt one of the first names on the team sheet. He is nailed to start both games and has the highest goal threat of all United players.
The England forward may also be on penalties, as he took their last one in the FA Cup game against Everton. This was despite Bruno Fernandes (£9.8m) being on the pitch.
Rashford is the third highest predicted scoring midfielder (8.3 points) for Double Gameweek 20 according to our Points Prediction Tool.
Marcus Rashford Stats
Fixture: Manchester United (a) and Spurs (H)
Kevin De Bruyne has three goals and 10 assists this season, with an xG of 3.73, and has created 59 chances (first) with an xA of 9.65 (first).
Manchester City travel to Old Trafford, and then have a home against Spurs in Double Gameweek 20. This isn’t the easiest double for City when it comes to attack, but they will be odds on to win and score in both these games.
They have scored 45 goals (first) so far with an xG of 39.77 (first) and are clearly the best attacking team in the league.
The Belgian is also involved in a lot of the goals that Man City score. He currently has a Goal Involvement rate of 34%, which is second only to teammate Erling Haaland (£12.2m). He is also the midfielder who is the most likely to start both games in the double for the Citizens.
KDB is the one pulling the strings for this City team, and will get plenty more attacking returns playing in this team
It’s no surprise that our Points Prediction Tool has him as the highest predicted scoring midfielder (11.6 points) for Double Gameweek 20 and he is also at 80% (second) for anytime returns over the two fixtures.
Kevin De Bruyne Stats
Fixture: Manchester United (a) and Spurs (H)
Erling Haaland is having a record-breaking season, with 21 goals and three assists in only 15 league starts. He has an xG of 15.31 (first) and has created 16 chances with an xA of 5.89 (second amongst forwards). He is simply essential to own, especially when he has a Double Gameweek.
He has only failed to return in three league games this season which came against Chelsea, Liverpool and Brentford. He is the favourite to score at anytime in Double Gameweek 20, and over the two fixtures has an 81% chance.
The Norwegian has a 55% Goal Involvement for City which is by far the highest amongst his teammates, and puts him at fourth overall in the league. He will be the most popular captain this week for sure, and is even a contender for the Triple Captain chip.
Although the fixtures aren’t the best and City are likely to get better doubles looking ahead, we pretty much know he will get close to 180 mins over these two fixtures, as there are no Champions League or Cup games in between and they also have five days rest in between the games.
Our Points Prediction Tool has him as the highest predicted scoring player (14.2 points) for Double Gameweek 20.
Erling Haaland Stats
Fixture: Arsenal (H) and Manchester City (a)
Harry Kane is having his best ever season in a Tottenham shirt. He has 15 goals and four assists, and is only behind Haaland for goals scored and FPL points.
Spurs have two of the toughest fixtures of the season in Double Gameweek 20, but both games look like they could have goals in them. Their first match is the North London Derby, which usually has goals in it. This match-up has seen 15 goals in the last four league meetings.
Antonio Conte's team have scored 37 goals (third) with an xG of 32.56 (fifth) so are a decent attacking side, and Kane is their clear talisman this season. He is also nailed to start and play 90 minutes in both games, and is the number one penalty taker.
His form, underlying numbers and output have just been too good ignore this season, and despite the tough games, he will still be one of the best options this week.
He currently has a 51% Goal Involvement (fifth overall). The England forward is also at 54% (second) to score anytime over the two fixtures according to the bookmakers.
Also, our Points Prediction Tool has him as the second highest predicted scoring forward (9.8 points) for Double Gameweek 20.
