The best and worst West Ham player in a 1-1 draw with Everton

West Ham were the better side for much of the match, but, in the end, they couldn't get the job done again, dropping more valuable points on the road to Everton at Goodison Park in what was cheekily referred to as the David Moyes Derby.
In what has become almost routine fashion for the Hammers, West Ham threw away a 1-0 lead shamelessly by completely collapsing defensively in the final minutes, with center back Konstantinos Mavropanos doing his best to sully all of his positives by failing to mark a player in the six-yard box.
As disappointing as that moment was from Mavropanos, he wasn't the worst player on West Ham in this 1-1 draw with Everton, let alone the worst defender.
That "honor" belongs to a player who has normally been a positive this season. Right back Aaron Wan-Bissaka didn't help his cause to England national team manager Thomas Tuchel, as he was atrociously sloppy in the draw (that felt like a loss).
Wan-Bissaka looked like the Manchester United version of himself out there, failing to complete even 70 percent of his passes while losing possession five times on purely unforced errors. He had a minimal impact defensively and was lucky not to have pulled a Mavropanos by conceding a goal early in the match from some shoddy marking.
On the flip side, a player who was called up by Tuchel did have a tremendous performance on Saturday afternoon, as winger Jarrod Bowen really put in a shift on the attacking end. Not only did he have a smart assist to supply the suddenly free-scoring Tomas Soucek with the go-ahead goal, but he also threatened Jordan Pickford on multiple occasions.
Every time I looked up and saw West Ham attacking the Everton goal, it was Bowen tirelessly leading the charge on either flank or even through the middle. He created several chances for his teammates and worked well on both ends of the pitch to try and will this team to victory.
Not even Bowen could spare this West Ham side that is seemingly intent on wasting any goodwill. Bowen deserved to be on the winning team for his work on Saturday at Goodison Park, and, if anything, he only enhanced his reputation as an international player by doing so much great progressive and chance creating work for the Irons in the David Moyes Derby.
