With four of the five relegation battlers entering their penultimate match day, there is still plenty to play for at the bottom of the Ekstraklasa. Bruk-Bet Termalica Nieciecza’s 1-0 defeat to Piast Gliwice on Saturday narrowed the permutations, but by the end of today, all three Ekstraklasa relegation spots could be confirmed.
The first game of the day, ultimately, could be the one to decide most things in the relegation battle. Both Stal and Śląsk are currently outside of the drop zone, but could both be dragged into it should results go against them.
• If Stal Mielec win, they will confirm their safety.
• If Śląsk Wrocław win, they will confirm their safety. It will also confirm the relegation of both Górnik Łęczna and Bruk-Bet Termalica Nieciecza.
• If the match ends in a draw, Stal will confirm their safety. Śląsk’s safety will only be confirmed if Wisła Kraków fail to beat Radomiak Radom. Górnik Łęczna and Bruk-Bet Termalica Nieciecza will also both be relegated.
Górnik Zabrze have little to play for other than pride, while Górnik Leczna will only have a chance of survival if Śląsk Wrocław have lost against Stal Mielec. If Śląsk lose:
• Górnik Łęczna MUST win.
Górnik Łęczna also require a victory in their final game, as well as Śląsk to lose their final game. They will also require a swing of nineteen goals in their favour across the two match days.
Radomiak also have little to play for. Wisła, meanwhile, can be relegated.
• If Śląsk Wrocław beat Stał Mielec, Wisła Kraków will be relegated if they fail to beat Radomiak.
• If Stal Mielec beat Śląsk Wrocław, Wisła will be relegated if they lose against Radomiak.
• If Stal Mielec – Śląsk Wrocław ends as a draw, Wisla will be relegated if they do not beat Radomiak.
