The Athletic reporter David Ornstein has named three striker targets for Chelsea this summer with one surprise on there.
The Blues managed to get through to the semi finals of the Conference League on Thursday by beating Legia Warsaw 4-2 on aggregate but on the night in the second leg, they lost 2-1 against the Polish minnows at Stamford Bridge in what was a shameful and embarrassing performance and result.
Chelsea captain even appears to take a slight dig towards Maresca as he admitted that the team did not prepare right for the game in his post-match comments last night.
It looked bad from the start to be honest when the lineup came out. Ahead of a key game to get Champions League qualification on Sunday, Maresca picked a very strong lineup and started big name players such as Cole Palmer, Reece James, and Marc Cucurella in a game they were already leading 3-0.
Maresca was asked about why he picked this lineup and gave an answer that once again insults fan intelligence.
Chelsea play Fulham in the league today but attentions are already starting to turn to the summer transfer market. Chelsea will need Champions League football though if they want to land some of their targets, surely.

The transfer reports put his latest out this weekend and mentions three striker targets for Chelsea.
As cited on X, he said:
‘Chelsea’s top target for the summer window is a striker. Chelsea are looking at names such as Liam Delap, Benjamin Sesko and Hugo Ekitike.’
The latter name there will come as the biggest surprise and one that has not been quite as heavily linked as names such as Delap and Sesko.
