Chelsea’s season ended pretty limply in the end, so it’s easy to forget how strong they were in the early part of the campaign.

The Blues were looking great until Christmas, and in the end it was really just their form at home which let them down.

While Liverpool and Man City won 15 of their 19 home games each, Chelsea won just 9. That big gap made all the difference in the end.

It wasn’t just the top two who had better home records than the Blues.

Arsenal, Tottenham, Man U, Leicester West Ham and Everton all had an equal or greater number of home wins. There are some pretty mediocre teams in there, and the fact we couldn’t do better than them is damning.

Priority number one for next season is to get our home record in line with the top teams around us. Without that, we’ve got no hope of winning the league.
