Raúl. Iker Casillas. Guti. And many more.
Real Madrid’s La Fabrica academy has long had a tradition of producing some fantastic talents.
We look at five of the best prospects currently in the system who could be next to make the breakthrough.
The attacking midfielder is the top scorer this season for Real Madrid’s Castilla side.
Now 20, he has been on the books at the club since the age of 12, the versatile playmaker is a skilled passer in the final third and a scorer of some sublime strikes.
The next Isco perhaps?
Blanco could be the long-term successor to Luka Modrić at Real Madrid, possessing similar qualities to the classy Croatian.
He reads the game exceptionally, is a precise passer and is also a real threat when shooting from distance.
‘Tony White’ is also a decorated performer at international level too, winning European Championship titles with Spain at Under-17 and Under-19 level.
Another of the players who seems certain to make it, although whether that comes at the Santiago Bernabéu remains to be seen.
The left-back occupies a tough position with Marcelo, Ferland Mendy and Sergio Reguilón all on the club’s books but the Juvenil A captain is arguably the side’s key man.
A very strong defender who also possesses a dangerous final ball too, he is highly regarded at the club and has already trained with the first team.
No pressure but Salazar, who doesn’t turn 17 until next month, is being discussed as the heir apparent to Raúl as the best academy finisher since him.
Heed the tale of Javier Portillo, who was similarly highly regarded, but it is clear that he is a lethal goalscorer, capable of all manner of finishes.
Nicknamed ‘Sala’, he is the Juvenil C side’s top goalscorer and is a regular underage international too.
A goalkeeper with the surname Cañizares. Sound familiar? Well it is with good reason.
Lucas is the son of legendary former Real ‘keeper and Spain international Santiago but isn’t just well thought of because of his father.
The 17-year-old is a reliable and strong presence between the posts who is very mature for his age, having already appeared for both the Juvenil A and Castilla sides.
