He played his whole career at Celtic and even turned down an offer from Arsenal, which would have made him the highest-paid footballer in Britain! Jimmy McGrory went on to manage Celtic for 20 years!

Henrik Larsson is a modern-day Celtic hero. The Swedish striker played at Celtic for 7 years, where he made 221 appearances and scored 174 goals. Larsson won 4 Scottish Premier League titles with Celtic and took them to the 2003 UEFA Cup final titles with Celtic. He was known for his amazing technical skills and effortless ability to score. Larsson was also an incredible player for the Swedish national side, which he captained and led to a bronze medal in the 1994 World Cup.
Billy McNeill will always be remembered as a Celtic legend thanks to captaining Celtic to their heroic European Cup victory in 1967. He holds the record for most club appearances for Celtic and played over 800 matches! McNeill was regarded as one of the world’s best defenders and was a ferocious tackler. McNeill was a major reason for Celtic’s golden era, where they won nine Scottish league championships and thirteen other major domestic trophies. He then went on to manage Celtic on two separate occasions.

Paul McStay, known to the Celtic supporters as The Maestro, was perhaps Celtic’s finest midfielder since the days of the Lisbon Lions. He could do it all from passing, dribbling, shooting, and tackling. He was an amazing on-field general. He made an incredible 515 appearances for Celtic and scored 57 goals. He also went on to play 79 times for Scotland and scored 9 goals for his country.

Jimmy Johnstone was an incredibly gifted player. His ability to dribble past defenders and find the back of the net was legendary. Johnstone played as a winger and forward and would often go on blazing runs, leaving defenders in his dust. He played 308 games for Celtic and scored 82 goals, and was part of the famous Lisbon Lions Celtic squad that won the European Cup victory in 1967.
