Millwall have struggled so far this season and still have a little way to go to confirm their Championship status in 2023/24.

The return of Neil Harris has helped turn things around at The Den but despite putting pen to paper on an 18-month contract when he replaced Joe Edwards, it remains to be seen whether he will remain in charge beyond the summer.

It looks set to be an interesting window for the Lions and there could be some movement both in and out. It's the latter we're looking at today as we highlight three players that the South Londoners could sell for a fee...

The club reportedly rejected multiple bids from Burnley for Zian Flemming in the summer and the Dutch midfielder is likely to be at the centre of more speculation ahead of 2024/25.

With the club currently in a battle against relegation, it is likely that Flemming's head could be turned in the upcoming window if there is more interest.

Flemming joined the club in 2022 from Fortuna Sittard, and impressed in his debut season with 15 goals and three assists in the league.

He's not quite reached those levels this term but has looked on his way back to his best under Harris and a strong finish to the season may mean he turns heads elsewhere.

With the three-year deal he signed with the club expiring in the summer of 2025, the Lions will have a decision to make if offers come in as it could be their last chance to cash in on him.

Foreign clubs can sign him to a pre-contract next January, so they will need to sell him before the start of next season or risk losing their star player on a free transfer the following year.

Billy Mitchell

Billy Mitchell's lofty potential means he could be the subject of interest in the summer, particularly if Millwall are playing in League One.

Mitchell signed a new long-term contract at the club in 2022, so the South Londoners would need to be well compensated to let him leave.

At just 22 years old and with over 120 Championship appearances under his belt, Mitchell has proven himself a capable second operator already and should get even better over the next few years as he approaches his prime.

Millwall will hope to see that progression firsthand but dropping down to League One could put that in doubt.

Romain Esse

Romain Esse was linked with a host of Premier League clubs last year, according to TeamTalk. Burnley were one of the sides reportedly interested in signing the youngster, although the other clubs were not mentioned in the report.

Hull City are said to have had an offer rejected late in the January window as well and it would be no surprise if the teenager is the subject of more attention in the summer transfer window.

Though restricted mostly to substitute appearances, Esse has shown glimpses of his bright talent this term and looks like one of the most exciting young players at the South London club.

so they will be in a good position to demand a good fee for the 18-year-old.
