Ever since 2009, one goal a year has been selected as the winner of the FIFA Puskas Award.

Over the past decade or so, there have been some absolutely stunning strikes that have won the prestigious accolade.

Cristiano Ronaldo's iconic long-range goal versus FC Porto in the Champions League was the first to win the award, while Neymar, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Mohamed Salah are the other global superstars to emerge victorious in the voting.

In 2021, a high number of stunning goals have been scored around the world and it's going to take something very special to win this year's FIFA Puskas Award.

And we think we've found the youngster who has scored a goal so spectacular that it simply has to be the current front-runner.

The footballer in question is 15-year-old Mizak Asante and he plays his football in Ghana for Golden Kicks FC.

Last weekend, the teenage sensation netted a ridiculous solo goal versus Mobile Phone People FC and it has rightly been trending on social media ever since footage of it first became available.

The skilful attacking midfielder picked up the ball on the edge of the penalty area, left four opposing players chasing shadows, dribbled past the goalkeeper with effortless ease and then fired the ball into the net.

It was absolutely ludicrous and you can check out the goal in the video below.

Lionel Messi, eat your heart out!

According to @3SportsGh, Asante's scarcely believable solo goal was a mighty important one as well.

The strike saved Golden Kicks in the nick of time and took the game to penalties, which then saw the team emerge victorious in the shootout and secure promotion to the top-tier of Ghanian football.

Well played, Mizak.

After the game, 3SportsParis Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe is his idol and that he aims to play football at the highest level in the future.
