After five goalless draws in the group stage, the World Cup has really got up and running.

And the 100th goal of the 2022 tournament has been scored in the final game of Group F between Canada and Morocco, but it didn’t go as you might expect.

Morocco defender Nayef Aguerd turned Sam Adekugbe’s low cross past Bono and into his own net to give Canada a fighting chance of getting back into the game just before half-time.

That meant it was ton-up for the Qatar World Cup and it was also a landmark goal with it being the first own-goal scored at this tournament.

France ’98 and Brazil ’14 hold the joint-record for most goals scored at a World Cup (174).
