Football League World have enlisted ChatGPT to rank the 10 worst grounds in League Two
As 24 clubs prepare themselves to do battle across 46 games from August to May, the stadiums across League Two can prove crucial in a team’s overall success.
Some grounds become cauldrons filled with atmosphere, roaring their sides on, whilst others struggle to match the current situation of their club and have less of a positive effect.
Ahead of the 2025/26 campaign, Football League World asked AI chatbot ChatGPT to take a look at the division’s home grounds and deliver a definitive ranking of the worst ten.
Bromley retained their newly found Football League status last term and will look to continue the fairytale next year.
However, Hayes Lane hasn’t fared too well in this ranking, with the AI unimpressed with its small stature.
Furthermore, a low attendance and limited away provisions, including poor rain cover, don’t do it any favours.
That said, the Ravens’ faithful aren’t likely to care about that as long as performances on the pitch stay positive.
Crawley Town are back in League Two after a disappointing cameo in the third-tier and will be hoping to push for the top seven next term.
Broadfield Stadium has been described as a sterile design by the AI, with it acting as more of a sports centre than a football ground.
A quiet atmosphere and poor acoustics have also been cited as reasons for its place on this list, with a lack of tradition holding the stadium back.
Holker Street is perhaps the perfect ground for Barrow, with it embodying the club’s stature and background.
This is noted by the AI, who makes a point of the ground’s charm, but believes that it feels too non-league to rank any lower on this list.
A long and difficult commute for most away supporters also doesn’t do it any favours, with the chatbot also labelling the ground’s facilities as outdated.
The Bluebirds will want to get back into the play-off fight next term, but Holker Street won’t challenge the top seven grounds for a good while, according to the AI.
Another side relatively new to the modern Football League, Harrogate Town have established themselves as a respectable fourth-tier outfit in recent years.
Wetherby Road is another ground that has been given the non-league treatment by ChatGPT, with recent developments not counting for much.
Small stature, weak atmosphere and sparse facilities are lamented as some of the division’s worst, with some stands being described as feeling temporary.
In somewhat of a sharp detour from the previous grounds on this list, the Stadium MK is praised for its brilliant facilities.
However, it’s the soulless atmosphere that detracts massively from what is on paper a great stadium.
A vast amount of empty seats kills any atmosphere, according to AI, with poor transport links and a sterile location also being big negatives.
ChatGPT refers to MK Dons’ controversial history as a reason for the cold vibe surrounding the place, which is hard to disagree with.
Salford City came within a point of play-off football last year and will be hoping next season sees them break into the top seven.
However, in this ranking, they are suffering contrasting fortunes.
AI describes the Peninsula Stadium as a training ground with a roof, labelling it basic and temporary.
A corporate feel also doesn't help its cause, with ChatGPT citing that the stadium has very little atmosphere.
Chesterfield are a club on the up who managed to reach the League Two play-offs at the first time of asking last season.
That said, AI believes that a poor fan experience can’t be excused, despite the SMH Group Stadium’s decent size and relative modernity.
A remote feel on matchdays, inconsistent atmosphere and average facilities for away supporters leave it languishing among the division’s worst arenas, according to ChatGPT.
Colchester United enjoyed a largely positive 2024/25 campaign and were in the hunt for the play-offs, finishing just three points behind Chesterfield in seventh.
However, they are one place above the Spireites on this list, unfortunately for them.
The strange location in relation to the town centre is an immediate negative according to the AI, with a flat atmosphere also not helping Colchester’s cause.
ChatGPT go as far to make a strange comparison between the ground and an IKEA car park, citing that poor attendance also leads to its ranking on this list.
Gareth Ainsworth’s outfit haven’t hit too many highs since relegation to League Two in 2022, with 12th place their best finish since then.
Priestfield Stadium hasn’t done much better in this ranking; in fact, it has almost been labelled the least desirable ground in the fourth-tier.
The Brian Moore stand is named as one of the EFL’s worst, with exposure to the elements and a lack of comfort also noted.
Toilet and food options have been described as “festival-level basic” as per the AI, who aren’t impressed with Priestfield to say the least.
In top spot, Grimsby Town’s Blundell Park has been ranked as the worst ground in League Two according to AI.
Described as outdated and uncomfortable, the Mariners’ supporters deserve better as per ChatGPT.
Tiny, cramped away seating and toilet facilities are amongst the worst in the league; it’s hard to find any positives in Blundell Park.
