‘That’s certain’ – Barcelona’s links with Real Madrid star clarified | OneFootball

La Liga champions Barcelona have not made contact with arch rivals Real Madrid over a potential deal for attacker Rodrygo.

That’s according to market expert Fabrizio Romano, who has on Tuesday provided an insight into the situation.

The name of frontman Rodrygo of course suddenly emerged as a prominent one in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital this past weekend.

As much came after shock reports stemming from the player’s home country of Brazil suggested that Barcelona had earmarked Rodrygo as a summer transfer target.

UOL Esporte even went as far as to claim that the Blaugrana had initiated contacts with the 24-year-old’s entourage.

Speaking during an appearance on DAZN this week, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of Rodrygo’s Camp Nou links was put to the aforementioned Fabrizio Romano.

The transfer insider, however, went on to assure:

“I don’t know where these Rodrygo rumours came from.

“But from everything I’ve been told, there’s nothing at all. Barcelona know it’s impossible to negotiate with either Rodrygo or Real Madrid. It won’t happen, that is certain.”
