“Text each other” – Former Chelsea player speaks on ex-team mate Zidane to Chelsea links | OneFootball

Chelsea might have won their last two matches, but you still sense the pressure on Graham Potter to continue winning games and putting in good performances.

The players seem to be fully behind him, and the board have been continuing to back him. But it was only a couple of weeks back now that we were reading about how the last two games were make or break for his Chelsea job, and the fans had pretty much all been calling for him to go all bar maybe the odd 10%.

When this went on we were hearing a lot of potential names as replacements to come in if Potter was sacked, one of them was Zinedine Zidane.

Former Chelsea player Frank Leboeuf played alongside Zidane for France during their playing days, and he still keeps in touch with him now. Leboeuf has revealed in his exclusive column for Si & Dan Talk Chelsea, that he recently text Zidane about these rumours.

He said: “I spoke this week on ESPN about Zinedine Zidane possibly being interested in managing Chelsea. Well, everyone would be interested to be the coach of one of the biggest clubs in the world. I’m sure Zidane was wondering whether he wanted to be the Chelsea coach or not. I don’t know if there was a real offer from Chelsea. I think he would be a fantastic coach and I really hope he comes.

“Myself and Zidane text each other about it recently but it’s not something I can reveal in public.

“But right now, I think it’s not a question of whether next year Zidane is going to be here or not, it’s a question of what is going to happen until the end of the season and if Graham Potter is going to stay or not.”
