Teun Koopmeiners indicates a future away from Atalanta,
Speaking in an interview with De Telegraaf via La Gazzetta dello Sport, Atalanta’s Teun Koopmeiners revealed his desire to leave the club this next transfer window. Napoli was linked to him last summer but the deal did not go through as the clubs could not find an agreement. He said: “There was concrete interest, but then the clubs couldn’t find [an agreement] with each other.”
The 26-year-old has already submitted a transfer request to La Dea to sell him in the summer. He is hopeful that he will be able to earn Atalanta a good deal due to his recent performances. Koopmeiners said: “I told the club that in the summer I would like to leave – the 1998-born player told the Telegraaf -, but to leave Bergamo a really interesting offer must arrive, because I hope that Atalanta will earn a good sum from my transfer. I hope to have some options to think about.”
The Dutchman is aware of the interest from Serie A giants Juventus and certain Premier League clubs. Teun Koopmeiners’ time at Bergamo is up after spending three seasons in Gian Piero Gasperini’s squad. Developments are awaited on the front of where his future lies as clubs are yet to progress talks with Atalanta.
