Venezia director Filippo Antonelli reveals Tanner Tessmann’s move to Inter is at risk of collapse despite an agreement between the two clubs.

Inter and Venezia have reached an agreement over Tessmann’s move to the Stadio Meazza, but it may not be enough to see the 22-year-old play for the defending Serie A champions.

Venezia director Antonelli, in fact, revealed during a press conference on Friday that the deal is not yet closed. On the contrary, it may not be finalised at all.

“No. It was closed with the club [Inter]. We wanted to keep the player on loan, but he wants to go elsewhere,” said the club director, as quoted by TMW.

“Inter have been looking for a solution but they still haven’t identified which club he could join on loan. The deal may collapse because of this.”

Local paper La Nuova Venezia claimed last week that Everton had emerged as a possible destination for Tessmann, but no other sources have confirmed this.

Torino didn’t call me personally,” continued Antonelli.

“Como did call me and Fiorentina made an inquiry. His agents say that there are many foreign clubs interested, but they haven’t yet called me.”

Inter and Venezia are also in talks for Filip Stankovic, a promising Nerazzurri keeper and son of ex-star Dejan, who may move to Laguna. Antonelli also confirmed Venezia’s interest in Mathias Delorge of Sint-Truidense VV.

“Talks are ongoing, we are interested in these players [Stankovic and Delorge]. We are trying to make important signings, but the competition is high and we must negotiate at the right moment.”

Venezia have been promoted to Serie A alongside Parma and Como and hired ex-Roma and Frosinone coach Eusebio Di Francesco as their new head coach.
