Young Chivas winger José de Jesús ‘Tepa’ González made his professional debut in Spain on loan at CD Tudelano last year and after making his first two Chivas appearances, the 20-year-old has huge goals for the future.
Though a European move is often times the aim of Mexican footballers, González wants to break Omar Bravo’s goalscoring record at Chivas.
“I do not think about a return to Europe. I have had a goal since I was a child, which is to break Omar Bravo’s goal record,” González said.
“Until I meet that goal, I will not feel prepared to go to Europe. I plan to stay here, become a Chivas legend, and become better than Omar Bravo.
“Yes I would like to go to Europe, but it is Chivas that is really the team of my heart.
“I have so much love for Chivas and in my heart, I want to be better than my idol. It is a goal that since I was a child that I have dreamt of.”
González will likely make the trip with the Chivas squad when they face rivals América in a friendly in Chicago.
