Club's third opponent at the Belfius Basecamp, after Thes Sport and Lierse Kempenzonen, was Beerschot. Club was down to ten after just ten minutes play, but nevertheless won the friendly 2-1 with goals by Jutglà and Servais.
Club and Beerschot played two 60-minute halves for this friendly. Coach Carl Hoefkens opted for a three-man defence. Mata, Otasowie and Nsoki played in front of goalkeeper Shinton. Nusa and summer signing Meijer covered the wings. In midfield we had Balanta, Vormer and Sandra. Up front Jutglà teamed up with Okereke.
Beerschot was best out of the starting blocks with a couple of little chances. Ten minutes into the game Baeten's effort was parried away by Shinton. Nsoki picked it up, but was hacked down by Baeten from behind. Nsoki reacted too fiercly to the incident and was sent off with a straight red card.
Despite Beerschot's numerical advantage, the game lacked sharpness and chances. Club's defence was never under too much pressure and shortly after the drinks break, Sowah powered through on the wing and his cross was cleared for a corner kick. On that corner Vormer picked out Jutglà who's looping header fell just under the crossbar: 1-0!
Beerschot responded through Vaca who curled a free-kick against the post, but the blue and black went into the half-time break with a 1-0 advantage.
Hoefkens sent eight new outfield players into the fray for the second 60-minute half. Only Sowah and Shinton stayed between the lines. After fifteen minutes of play, Beerschot punished Club after a poor pass in the defence. Goossens didn't hesitate to pull the visitors level.
With the clock almost running out, Club snatched the win after all. In the 105th minute Servais curled a free-kick against the back of the net!
