Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag says he'll demand standards of excellence from his players this coming season.

A disappointing campaign for the Reds concluded on Sunday with a 1-0 defeat at Crystal Palace, meaning United finish sixth in the table and go into the Europa League next season.

“I have high expectations from myself and that is also what I demand from my squad," Erik said, in the first part of his exclusive interview, which you can watch now.

“They have to co-operate together and they have to give every day their best. And I would say, for me, good is not good enough.

“We have to do better."

Ten Hag's footballing philosophy has been much examined since it was confirmed last month that he would replace Ralf Rangnick in the United hotseat.

The 52-year-old's penchant for attacking, front-foot football is well known following his trophy-laden spell with Ajax, who he led to the Champions League semi-finals in 2019.

“Always. Everywhere I was in my career, I have high demands on my players," he added.

“I expect them to fight and give 100 per cent.

“They have to be unified, to form a team, and to battle the opponent."
