New Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag says he's long been a fan.
During the press conference to unveil the Dutchman as the club's new manager, he was asked if he followed the Reds' exploits during his youth.
"It was [my favourite club]," he said. "Seriously.
"In every country, I had a favourite club. In England, [it was] Manchester United."
The new man's excitement to get started and pick his team for a sold-out game at Old Trafford was evident, when fielding questions from journalists at the stadium.
"I have been in Manchester but this is the first time I've been in Old Trafford and I'm impressed," he admitted.
"It feels like my home already and I cannot wait until the first match and the stand is full.
"It will be an exciting experience."
While the club's remarkable history was a clear attraction for a young Ten Hag, it is only the future that concerns him now.
After taking a break, he will return to Carrington next month determined to stamp his influence on the club and ensure the Reds are prepared for the 2022/23 campaign in the best possible way.
"No, the reason [for coming here], is, although it is a fantastic history, the reason is there is a high potential for the future," he declared.
"That's why I am here."
