As we prepare for another massive game in the history of Chelsea football club, a moment to reflect on the season so far and look ahead to next is needed.

Thomas Tuchel has been excellent since arriving in January and he has made an instant positive impact. He is now just 90 minutes away from a Champions League final tonight.

The German boss has come in and used a solid 3-4-3 formation that concentrates on getting results and keeping solid at the back.

But next season he will be looking to push on some more and work on ‘a range of potential’ new formations that is likely to be some form of a 4-2-4 adaptation potentially using two strikers.

This is according to Matt Law of The Telegraph, who reported this in his latest newsletter.

He claims that sources tell them that Tuchel is already considering a range of potential formations for next season.

“Those who know Tuchel believe he’d like to be able to play a variation of a 4-2-4 for certain games to increase their attacking threat,” is one quote.
