We have always had a sense that Chelsea fans chasing any more new signings at the club will have to wait until the summer rather than anything major happening this month, and as we hit day 13 in January it appears more the case by the day.

However, there could be a few major pursuits in the summer, and a new commanding centre back will be on the cards, according to Matt Law in his latest Chelsea Newsletter on The Telegraph.

Which players could be leaving Chelsea this month? Find out here!

Law believes that Chelsea will try and sign at least one commanding centre-back in the summer, with Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen both likely to be sold.

There is an option to extend the loan of Thiago Silva, but Kurt Zouma looks like the only totally secure centre back at the club right now, so this is why Law says ‘at least one’ new centre back – we could see more.
