Injuries are piling up in the goalkeeping department at relegation threatened KV Kortrijk. Both Patrik Gunnarsson and Marko Ilic have been out for some time now, and this weekend they were joined by Lucas Pirard. The experienced goalkeeper, who has been performing well of late, had to go off during the sides victory over Sint Truiden. As reported by Het Nieuwsblad, he is now set to be out for this weekends clash with already relegated Beerschot due to suffering from an adductor issue.

This means that 19-year-old Ebbe De Vlaeminck, who made his first ever appearance for the side coming off the bench at the weekend, will start between the sticks. With that victory over Sint Truiden Kortrijk have given themselves a lifeline. They can capitalise on this at the weekend when they face a Beerschot side that have nothing to play for. With both Cercle Brugge and Sint Truiden facing off against each other as well, there is a high chance a win for Kortrijk could see them really claw back some of the gap between the sides.
