Barnsley head coach Michael Duff has revealed that Slobodan Tedic will need to be assessed ahead of this weekend’s clash with Milton Keynes Dons while James Norwood has a chance of being available for selection.
Tedic, who is currently on loan at Oakwell, featured for the Reds in last Saturday’s clash with Shrewsbury Town.
Barnsley sealed all three points in this particular clash thanks to a strike from Adam Phillips in the first-half.
Norwood was absent from the squad that defeated Shrewsbury as he missed this fixture due to injury.
Since sealing a move to Barnsley earlier this year, the 32-year-old has made 15 appearances for the club in the third-tier.
Currently eighth in the League One standings, the Reds will move into the play-off places if they beat MK Dons as Portsmouth and Derby County are set to face each other tomorrow.
Ahead of Saturday’s meeting with Liam Manning’s side, an update has emerged on Tedic and Norwood.
The Verdict
Barnsley will be hoping to turn to both of these players for inspiration as they aim to secure all three points in front of their supporters this weekend.
Having produced five direct goal contributions in the third-tier for Barnsley this season, Norwood may fancy his chances of adding to this tally against a Dons side who have only managed to claim three clean-sheets in 17 league games.
As for Tedic, he will be keen to build the encouraging cameo display that he produced against Forest Green Rovers earlier this month.
The Serbian provided an assist for Josh Martin in the second-half of this fixture as Barnsley sealed a 2-0 victory.
If the Reds are firing on all cylinders on Saturday, they could prove to be too strong for their opponents who are currently in the League One relegation zone.
