Celtic defender Tony Ralston has been named in Steve Clarke’s Scotland team for this evening’s game against Croatia. The Scots will be looking for a victory in what has been a difficult start to their Nations League group.
In goals, ex-Celtic goalkeeper Craig Gordon starts. The 41-year-old has ousted Zander Clark at Tynecastle and has regained his spot in nets due to Angus Gunn’s injury.
In defence, Ralston and Liverpool’s Andy Robertson start in the fullback berths with Grant Hanley and John Souttar in a central pairing.
In midfield, Napoli duo Scott McTominay and Billy Gilmour are joined by Kenny McLean.
In attack, Lyndon Dykes starts with Ryan Christie and Ben Doak playing off the Birmingham forward.
Subs: McCracken, McCrorie, Adams, Mackenzie, Irving, Porteous, Lindsay, Morgan, Nisbet, Gauld & Devlin.
Ralston is the only Celt in the squad after James Forrest pulled up with an injury in training and Greg Taylor withdrew due to a calf injury. The Scots are still looking to replace Callum McGregor in that role in the centre of the park after the Celtic skipper called time on his international career after the Euros.
Ralston and his Celtic teammates will return to Croatia in December to face Dinamo Zagreb in the UEFA Champions League.
