Additionally, there are fans on the other side of the spectrum who know all too well the negatives that football can provide, as they have seen their team fail to win on more occasions than anyone would typically care for.

However, the EFL certainly has the ability to provide some rather surprising moments for fans of some teams, as it allows for some to perform at a level that will surprise almost everyone.

Indeed, many are quick to write off a number of sides and their chances of achieving success regardless of how it is defined, but the league has continued to show that we can only do so at our peril.

When taking a look at the article that has been produced by Sporting Ferret, it is clear that there are a handful of teams that are performing to a standard that many would not have simply expected them to do so.

Coventry City are perhaps the most obvious when it comes down to a side who are making a mockery of early predictions, as Mark Robins’ side continue to surpass expectations in the Championship. The Sky Blues were not favoured to stay in England’s second division in their first year, whilst many would not have predicted that they would be challenging for a playoff spot (or even automatic promotion) in their second year.

Huddersfield Town may have tasted Premier League football in recent years, but they fell to the wayside in recent years, as well. They flirted badly with relegation last season, but they have since found themselves as they continue to push for promotion once again via a spot in the playoffs.

Let’s not count out Blackpool, either, as they have made an impressive showing in their first year back in the Championship. Many will have felt that they would be floundering in the division after a six-year hiatus, but they have been able to get a number of impressive results that suggest they could be about to have a solid campaign.

The article also goes on to mention Plymouth Argyle, Wigan Athletic, Forest Green Rovers and Sutton United as teams in the remainder of the EFL to have caused some surprise this season and surpassed all expectations.
