There was positive team news from Head Coach Robert Vilahamn ahead of our return to action in the New Year, with two key players back available for Sunday’s clash against Sheffield United.

Olga Ahtinen, named vice-captain by Robert for the 2023/24 campaign, and Eveliina Summanen have been out since November, but the boss confirmed that they are in contention after having recently returned to training.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference on Thursday afternoon, Robert said: “Eveliina and Olga will both be in the squad for Sunday, so that’s really good news. They have trained very well over the last two weeks and look sharp.”

The duo were influential in the early part of the campaign, starting in our first six matches together, before Olga picked up a knee injury against Liverpool on 12 November, while Eveliina hasn't featured since the trip to Manchester City on 26 November.

Midfielder Drew Spence (hamstring) remains unavailable but is making progress in her recovery.
