Team news for both Manchester United and Nottingham Forest ahead of this evening’s Carabao Cup semi-final second-leg.

The Red Devils can book their place at Wembley this evening if they see out another win and add to their three-goal advantage at Old Trafford. Should they progress, they will face Newcastle United, who beat Southampton 3-1 on aggregate to reach their first final in 24 years.

United must ensure they kill the game off early tonight and prevent any kind of comeback from their opponents. Given the advantage, Erik ten Hag will likely want to deploy some younger players to take the strain off of the regular starters, as they will face a packed schedule of fixtures over the next four weeks.

United team news

Christian Eriksen has unfortunately been ruled out of action until late March/early April. The club were quick in seeking a suitable alternative midfielder, though, and confirmed that Marcel Sabitzer will be playing for the Reds until June 2023. He is ineligible to play this evening but could make his debut on Saturday against Crystal Palace.

Ten Hag confirmed that Anthony Martial is fit to return to action, whilst Jadon Sancho is now available for selection and will come as a welcome addition back in the matchday squad.

Diogo Dalot, Luke Shaw and Scott McTominay are still recovering from injuries.

Forest team news

United loanee Dean Henderson cannot line up against his parent club but is injured nevertheless.

A significant blow for Steve Cooper is that Morgan Gibbs-White is currently sidelined with the ankle injury he sustained in the first leg. As well as the Englishman, forward Taiwo Awoniyi, Cheikhou Kouyate and Giulian Biancone will not be available.
