Team News: Dejan Kulusevski could miss Burnley clash with illness

According to Football.London, Antonio Conte could be forced to make a change in attack with Tottenham winger Dejan Kulusevski a doubt for the Premier League clash against Burnley due to illness.

The Swede has impressed since making the switch to White Hart Lane from Turin in January and has been key to Spurs’ renaissance under Antonio Conte even as they continue to push for a top-4 spot.

Arsenal are the other team battling it out for a Champions League spot and find themselves a point ahead of Conte’s team. Spurs will have to win their remaining games in hand and hope that Arsenal drop points in either of the fixtures to hand them a place in the top-4.

With that in mind, Antonio Conte has been handed a blow with Kulusevski set to miss out on the all-important clash against Burnley owing to illness. The trio of Kulusevski, Harry Kane and Son Heung Min has been working wonders for the Lilywhites and the loss of the right-winger is something that could affect Spurs today.

How big a miss is Kulusevski?

The Swedish international has been nothing short of brilliant for Spurs since his move in January. The 22-year-old has scored 3 goals and made 8 assists in just 16 Premier League games, and has been the catalyst that Conte’s men needed to push for the top-4.

Whilst it is not yet confirmed that the winger will miss the clash today, if he fails to recover in time, Antonio Conte will have to come up with alternatives. The most likely option to replace the Swede is Lucas Moura.

The Brazilian forward player is unassuming and constantly underrated even as he goes about his business quietly. He is more than capable of filling the hole left behind by Kulusevski as he looks to help his team overcome the Clarets.

Tottenham have all to play for when they take the field against the relegation-threatened Burnley today and every player will have to play their best game to help the Lilywhites get over the line.
