The 23-year-old winger has become a vital and valuable member of Taylor’s squad, winning four major trophies, while scoring 65 goals in 157 appearances.

And the boss was beaming when he spoke to the media in his pre-match press conference after the update broke across mancity.com and our official app.

“Absolutely amazing, really crucial for us to proceed and make those steps forward that we want to,” the boss said.

“She’s still a young player, has so much to do but really enjoyed the journey so far.

“She someone who’s really coachable.

“I’m excited by what the future can bring for her and the team.”

Taylor says the news showcases that City offers an environment of excellence where stars like Hemp can ‘grow’.

The boss also insists it illustrates that there’s a ‘bigger picture’ in place at the Club, a plan to create not only a positive present but also a fantastic future.

“I think it’s great. I think everyone’s really excited about what we’re trying to do,” the manager continued.

“Of course us guys inside know what we’re trying to do but trying to get players to commit to longer deals is always difficult because they weren’t the norm.

“That extra commitment to be successful, it doesn’t guarantee anything but gives you that chance, particularly a player who wants to grow and improve.

“Of course, the people we have here is a big part. This is an amazing club to be at, the amount of support people get here, players especially, it’s a great environment for players to grow in.

“What we’re seeing now is a bigger picture and plan not just of the immediate, we want to win so bad but there’s a process, securing players and staff for long periods is good because it allows you to create succession and improve relationships.

“A lot of what’s been said this season is not too much change in the summer and we loved that situation.

“It’s what we worked on hard for and want to see through. That’s the plan and it doesn’t change. Whatever happens, nothing changes.”
