Gareth Taylor said ‘patience’ was the watchword in his half-time speech that lead to a 2-0 victory over Leicester City.

Taylor admitted in his post-match press briefing that his side could – and should - have been five or six up at the break.

But it wasn’t to be, due in large part to an inspired performance by Foxes goalkeeper Janina Leitzig, on loan from Bayern Munich.

Taylor, talking to his team at the break, called for more calm in the final third – and he was rewarded with fine second half goals from Bunny Shaw and Chloe Kelly.

He said: “I really enjoyed the first 20 minutes because of the football we played and we created a lot of chances. We could have been out of sight by then.

“The message at half-time was that we needed to be a bit more patient in the final third. The last thing they’ll have wanted was me coming in and having a go about the chances we created and the chances we missed.

“But I felt we could create a bit better chances.

“And I actually felt we weren’t going to score from a cross in the air – and that’s exactly what we scored from so what do I know?

“It was a great ball in and a really good header from Bunny to beat a goalkeeper who was inspired today.

“It was a special header. If she puts more power into it, she probably misses the target so it was a really class header.

“Then obviously Chloe’s was a great finish as well. I am really pleased for Chloe.

“We spoke afterwards and said we could have had five or six today, quite easily in the first half, but again Leicester are a different proposition now.”
