On Tuesday, Tata Martino, manager of the Mexican national team, talked about which player he sees with the potential to go to play in Europe.
21-year-old centre-back Edson Álvarez, who plays for América, has been very impressive this season and Tata sees him as one of the best players that Mexico has to offer.
“If I had to choose a player who is ready to make the jump, it would be Edson Álvarez,” Martino said.
“He is a starter in América, has a World Cup experience and is versatile.”
América will face Tigres in a huge match on Saturday.
