Tanner Tessmann to Inter Milan is now off after the two sides failed to reach a deal on personal terms, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Tessmann was linked with a move from Venezia to Inter earlier this summer with the Serie A champions keen on the United States midfielder. Gianluca DiMarizo reported that Inter wanted to sign the midfielder contingent on a deal to send Tessmann back to Venezia for the 2024/25 season on loan. After the season, the 23-year-old would join Inter.
According to Romano, a deal was reached between the two clubs. But, Tessmann and Inter couldn't come to an agreement on personal terms. The move is now off and Tessmann will remain with Venezia.

Tessmann, currently in the USMNT squad for the 2024 Paris Olympics, logged 37 league appearances last summer in Serie B. Tessmann, alongside country teammate Gianluca Busio, played major roles in helping Venezia get promoted back to Italy's top flight.
Tessmann has just two senior caps for USA, but the Olympics is a great opportunity for him to show the next USMNT boss that he should be considered for the 2026 World Cup on home soil. His first call-up was in Jan. 2021 in a 7-0 win against Trinidad and Tobago.
USA competes against France, New Zealand and Guinea in the Olympics group stage. The younger squad can rewrite a narrative surrounding the country after the senior team was bounced from Copa America 2024 in the group stage. That disappointment lead to Gregg Berhalter losing his job as head coach.
USMNT tried reaching out to Jurgen Klopp, but was swiftly denied by the ex-Liverpool boss. The latest name to be linked with the side is former Crystal Palace, RC Strasbourg and OGC Nice manager Patrick Vieira. The United States Soccer Federation has the Arsenal legend on their list after Vieira and Strasbourg mutually parted ways on July 18.
