After a successful season-long loan with Napoli, France international midfielder Tanguy Ndombele (26) is eyeing a return to Tottenham Hotspur, according to a report from Foot Mercato.
The 26-year-old Lyon youth product joined the North London side from his formative club in a €62m move four years ago. Ndombele joined OL for a six-month loan in January 2022. He was then loaned to Napoli for the whole of the 2022-2023 season. With the Serie A-winning Luciano Spelletti-led side, Ndombele played 40 games in all competitions, registering two goals and one assist.
Foot Mercato report that Tottenham included a €30m purchase option to make Ndombele’s move to Napoli permanent. The player has reportedly informed the Serie A side of his desire to return to his parent club and kickstart his career back with Spurs. It remains to be seen whether Tottenham would want to retain Ndombele should a bid for him come through. However, there is high uncertainty regarding the matter considering Spurs have, as of now, no Sporting Director following the resignation of Fabio Paratici, whilst they are also in the market for a head coach.
