Roma striker Tammy Abraham was back on the score sheet for the first time in 12 months last night.

The Englishman helped the Giallorossi equalize in last night’s match against Napoli, earning a late 2-2 draw at the Diego Maradona Stadium in Naples.

In his post-match interview with Roma TV, Abraham reflected on the importance of this moment.

“I waited a whole year for this day to come,” said Abraham. “I suffered a bad injury, but the team has always been with me. Today I wanted to get on the pitch and help the team as much as possible: I was in the right place and at the right time to score again.”

“The important thing is the point we collected and being ready for Thursday night against Bayer,” he added.

“We believed in a result until the last second tonight. Coming here is never easy, against a team that won the Scudetto last year. We knew about the difficulties, but we reacted well: we never give up.”

“This is the important thing, we get a point even if we are a little saddened by not having won. We’ll take it and move on.”

“How am I feeling? I’m a boy who loves playing football. Now I have a new knee, which I have to look after. I feel fit, I just hope to help the team as much as possible between now and the end of the season.”
