One pundit on talkSPORT this week has claimed that Chelsea’s new owners have ‘”ripped the soul out of that club” after the slump goes on.
Chelsea lost 3-0 to Brighton on Friday night to kick off the latest round of Premier League matches in what was an abysmal performance and the second time they lost to Brighton in a week.
Chelsea’s defeat against Brighton on Friday night has been named as the ‘worst performance’ under Enzo Maresca so far, and they are not wrong with that analysis at all.
There has been plenty of debate over who is to blame for how bad Chelsea are right now, with fingers being pointed at not just Maresca, but at the sporting directors who built this squad, as well as directly at the club owners. And the stats have backed up that all three have to share the blame right now.
Chelsea fans are angry, and some have even been speaking of a protest this week against the owners of the club, who have spent ridiculous amounts of money but have still yet to see it fruition.

I don’t think anyone can really debate this right now from former Arsenal defender Martin Keown, who was speaking on air this week.
“They [Chelsea’s owners] have taken anybody out that was a winner, they have ripped the soul out of that club.”
Chelsea truly lack leaders, experience, and mentality monsters in a squad build that has severely lacked balance.
It’s great buying top young talents, but you simply need to balance that out alongside experienced role models and motivators. It’s really that simple.
