Liverpool are ready to sanction the loan exit of Sepp van den Berg to Preston North End this summer transfer window and talks will begin with the men from Deepdale once the player has returned to this country.

The young Dutchman headed to Preston midway through last season as part of the deal that saw Ben Davies move the other way and arrive at Anfield.

However, it was only Van den Berg that really got anything out of the agreement, with him playing regularly for North End and doing well – with it clear that the Reds are now ready to let him go there again this summer.

According to Lancashire Live, Preston are poised to open talks once he is back in this country and Liverpool are more than willing to let him head there for next year, too:

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

This should be a good move for the defender.

The Dutchman needs to keep earning experience and doing so in the Sky Bet Championship is certainly something that plenty of players would jump at being offered.

It’s a really good level and we’ve seen the likes of Harvey Elliott and Harry Wilson do well in the second tier, so let’s hope Sepp can build on last season if and when he gets that move.
