As reported by David Ornstein of the Athletic, talented youngster Ethan Nwaneri has committed his future to Arsenal.
Despite attracting interest from many top clubs the 16-year-old is said to have never considered moving away from his boyhood side, having grown up in close distance to The Emirates stadium.
With his previous schoolboy registration contract set to expire on June 30, the England youth international has now signed scholarship forms with The Gunners and agreed to a professional deal when he turns 17 in March 2024.
Playing in a variety of midfield and forward positions, Nwaneri is highly regarded by many across English football, having consistently been exposed to high levels of football at a young age- most notably in September 2022, when he came on as a substitute against Brentford, becoming the youngest player in Premier league history at just 15 years old.
The news comes following Mikel Arteta’s side confirming the signing of German forward Kai Havertz from Chelsea, as well as reports that Declan Rice looks set to move to North London for a club record £105m fee West Ham.
Although not as high-profile as their other deals this window, the agreement with Nwaneri highlights the continuation of Arteta’s exciting project in North London.
