Taking a look at the players expected to leave Milan this summer

In addition to signings, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are also working some exits this summer as AC Milan need to make way for the new players. As things stand, there are six so-called exit-bound players.

The first name is Tiemoue Bakayoko, who is expected to end his loan with the Rossoneri one year early. He didn’t exactly impress this past season and in recent days, Marseille have expressed their interest. And Milan are happy to send him back to Chelsea.

In addition to the Frenchman, Samu Castillejo is also destined to depart this summer and return to La Liga where he once made a name for himself. Real Betis have previously expressed interest and it remains to be seen how much Milan can get. Then there is also Mattia Caldara, who won’t get any playing time at Milan.

These three are the only certain departures, at least on a permanent basis, as there are some other players that will leave on loan. Matteo Gabbia is just one step away from Sampdoria and Verona are pushing hard for Daniel Maldini, while Marko Lazetic needs a loan experience for his career.

There are a few trickier cases, such as that of Fode Ballo-Toure. Milan weren’t impressed by him last season but also know that he’s a cheap backup. Besides, it will be hard to find a new destination for the former Monaco man (at least at the right price).

Other than these  six-seven players, Milan are not expected to sell unless very good offers arrive this summer. Something that must be monitored, of course.
