The former Inter player put on a clinic on Sunday, scoring his first career hat-trick in a 5-0 thumping of Girona. And in doing so, he made some history.

Buchanan joins Jonathan David as the only Canadians to net a hat-trick in any of Europe's top five leagues.

Buchanan's Villarreal side now sit top of LaLiga with two wins from two, seven goals scored and zero conceded. He's also the leading goal scorer in the league at the moment.

A brilliant start ahead of Canada co-hosting the 2026 FIFA World Cup next year.
