Before the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup against VfB Stuttgart on Saturday evening, Jonathan Tah reflects on his first two months at Bayern Munich.

"I tried to recite everything, to get to know the players and staff. It's not that easy to remember all the names here!

"I received a very warm welcome and felt at home from the start. It helps that I already knew many of the guys from the national team and was there at the Club World Cup.

It's a special feeling to drive up to Säbener Straße," continued the 29-year-old, referencing the Bavarian club's stunning training campus.

Tah, aware of the high expectations placed on him at Bayern, says he doesn't really like the term ‘defensive leader’.

“I don't like that word. We all have to be leaders on the pitch and take responsibility. Each in his own way.

"But of course, I'm someone who tries to take on a lot of responsibility. On and off the pitch. I want to lead the way,” he explained.
