Ajax increased their lead at the top of the Eredivisie on Saturday with a 3-1 win over Groningen.
Former-Groningen winger, Dušan Tadić, was on the score sheet for the visitors as he converted a penalty in first-half stoppage time but found himself being booed by the host’s supporters.
“I am very disappointed, this is very bad of them,” Tadić told ESPN after the game.
“I always said that Ajax is my dream club but FC Groningen will forever in my heart. Normally I never celebrate goals against FC Groningen, not when I played at FC Twente and now also at Ajax.
“I don’t deserve such treatment. Groningen made money from me, I made people happy, they were proud that I played here and we achieved the best results in Groningen’s history.”
The Serbia international played for Groningen between 2010 and 2012 scoring 14 goals and registering 32 assists.
