Former Juventus midfielder Alessio Tacchinardi says they should think twice about bringing Paul Pogba back from Manchester United.

Off contract in June, Pogba has been linked with a Bosman move to former club Juve.

But Tacchinardi told La Gazzetta dello Sport: "Technically he is a fantastic player, he can play today perhaps better in a midfield of two than of three, while when he was young he liked to attack the goal more.

"He can complete with any central of the field. He's one of the most popular players. He is a diamond and diamonds cost, they cost a lot. Taking into account how Chiesa and Locatelli were paid I don't know if it would go crazy even if he is fantastic.

"It is an investment to evaluate, between commissions, salary and everything else, and I reluctantly say that I do not know if it is correct to put that money in him or instead in certain players for the future if you do not have them."
