With the Premier League and Emirates FA Cup already wrapped up for the Blues, a historic treble finds itself just one game away from completion. Manchester City face Inter Milan in their second-ever UEFA Champions League final this Saturday at 20:00 (UK). UEFA have given Szymon Marciniak the honour of referee.

One for the biggest of stages, Marciniak officiated the final of the Qatar 2022 World Cup and is widely regarded as the best in the business. During the final, he awarded three penalties, with Lionel Messi converting his for Argentina and then Kylian Mbappe scoring two for France.

With regards to his history with Pep Guardiola's side, the Pole actually took charge of City's last Champions League match – the 4-0 demolition of Real Madrid at the Etihad last month. Additionally, Marciniak officiated City's 4-0 win away at Feyenoord in 2017.

The 42-year-old isn't one to shy away from the cards. In seven Champions League appearances this season, he's dished out 28 yellow cards and two reds.
