Wojciech Szczesny has reportedly decided to terminate his contract with Juventus by mutual consent, becoming a free agent, and could even retire this summer.

The goalkeeper is not part of the club’s plans this season after the arrival of new coach Thiago Motta and replacement Michele Di Gregorio from Monza.

His current deal holds him to the Bianconeri until June 2025 and he is one of the biggest earners at the club, which prompted the desire to move him on.

Szczesny considering career options

After a move to Saudi Arabia for Al Nassr collapsed, there were suggestions the Poland international could move within Serie A to Monza or another mid-level side.

However, Calciomercato.com and Tuttosport suggest that Szczesny and his family are so happy living in Turin that he may well decide to hang up his gloves a year earlier than planned.

He only turned 34 in April and represented Poland at EURO 2024 this past summer.

The former Arsenal man has been in Italy since 2005 for Roma, then joined Juventus in 2017 for €18.4m.
