Swedish international forward Anna Anvegård has left Everton after just one season with the Merseyside club.

Everton have this morning confirmed that the player has completed a move back home where she has joined BK Häcken.

The forward was one of Everton’s marquee signings after joining the club from FC Rosengård 12 months’ ago. Anvegård made 14 appearances for Everton in last season’s Barclays Women’s Super League, scoring four goals. The Swede was one of the top performing players at Everton in 2021/2022 in what turned out to be a hugely underwhelming campaign for The Blue Girls.

New Everton boss Brian Sørensen may have already recruited a replacement for Anvegård with Dutch forward Katja Snoeijs joining the club earlier this week. The Merseysiders have also brought in Manchester City prodigy Jess Park on a season-long arrangement.

Despite their attacking additions, Everton still look rather light in that area of the pitch. In addition to Anvegård, The Blue Girls have also lost Claire Emslie and Simone Magill this summer while French forward Valérie Gauvin departed before the end of last season. Further attacking additions are a certainty at Walton Hall Park before the new season begins with Everton looking to kick-off the Sørensen era very brightly.
