Lechia Gdańsk have swooped to sign Swedish centre-back Henrik Castegren on a two-and-a-half-year deal.
25-year-old Castegren arrives in the Ekstraklasa having spent his career to date in his homeland. Besides loan stints at Degefors IF and IF Sylvia, the lady seven years been spent with his hometown club, IFK Norrkoping. His contract with the club came to an end in January.
Castegren has made over 80 appearances in Sweden’s top-flight Allsvenksan, and also played for Norrkoping in the qualifying rounds of the Europa League.
Lechia boss Tomasz Kaczmarek will see Castegren as a replacement for Bartosz Kopacz, who returned to his former club Zagłębie Lubin earlier in the transfer window.
There will be an option for Lechia to extend the player’s contract by 12 months, and Castegren will wear the no. 3 shirt in Gdańsk.
