Today, it has been announced that AC Milan legend Zlatan Ibrahimovic will have his career celebrated in a National Team testimonial later this year.

As unfortunate as the circumstances were, Zlatan’s emotional Milan goodbye gave a chance for the fans to give the legend the send-off that he deserved. However, his exit was short-lived, as he returned to the club this season.

In December, the Swede joined RedBird and the Rossoneri with a dual role, allowing him to assist in several departments across both workplaces. Rumours originally flew about what role he would have and the power he would possess, but after nearly six five in charge, his influence is quite clear.

In a recent interview, Gerry Cardinale called Ibra a vessel for himself, able to act on his behalf and relay information about the club when needed, given he is not based in Italy. Therefore, Zlatan influences several departments in the club, including mercato-related areas.

For Swedish fans, though, they never got a chance to give the star a proper goodbye. However, today, the Swedish National Team (via MilanNews) announced that they will play a friendly against Serbia on June 8 to celebrate the Swede’s international career, in which he played 122 times, scoring 62 goals.
