Swansea City can count on compensation if Steve Cooper takes the Nottingham Forest job.
Swansea will be due compensation from Forest if Cooper is to become their new manager.
The 41-year-old is still technically contracted to the Welsh club despite leaving his role as head coach by mutual consent in July.
Cooper's contract – signed in 2019 – still runs until 2022.
Sky Sports News reported on Thursday that Cooper is in talks with Forest, having been identified as their preferred candidate to succeed Chris Hughton.
Cooper was highly-regarded at the Liberty Stadium after leading them to the Championship playoffs on a modest budget last season. They attempted to discuss a new contract with him before he left.
