Manchester United take on Atletico Madrid in the next round of the Champions League.

The La Liga outfit will be without Yannick Carrasco for next month after the midfielder was handed a suspension following his red card against FC Porto.

According to Spanish publication Marca, UEFA has ruled that Carrasco be banned for three games after grabbing Otavio by the throat and throwing him to the action.

That means the Belgian will miss both legs against United in the Champions League round of 16, which will certainly come as a blow for Atleti after he started all of their European matches this term.

However, Carrasco has only scored two goals this season, with another six assists to his name in all competitions.

United will be hoping to progress to the quarter-finals for the first time since 2019 – something we have only achieved twice since Sir Alex Ferguson retired in 2013.

The Reds have dipped in and out of the Europa League since.

Our only chance of winning trophies this season come in the Champions League and FA Cup, but should United progress in the competition, it’s highly likely that they will meet one of the other Premier League clubs left in the competition.

The Reds are unsurprisingly considered outsiders to win the Champions League. Just like Chelsea were last season!
