The powers that be at La Liga giants Real Madrid have identified a member of the defensive ranks at AC Milan as a leading summer target.
That’s according to Sport Bild, who have on Wednesday provided an insight into the situation.
The player in the sights of the Real brass, it is claimed, comes in the form of Malick Thiaw.
Thiaw, for his part, has spent the last two seasons plying his trade in Italy, since being snapped up by the aforementioned Milan from Schalke.
And the 22-year-old in this time has gone on to establish himself as an important member of the Rossoneri’s ranks, from his berth at the heart of defence.
Thiaw is an imposing stopper, who boasts an impressive passing range, too.
Such talents have culminated in a trio of caps with the German senior national team, as well as, as alluded to above, interest from one of the continent’s top clubs.
As per German outlet Bild:
‘Real Madrid is working intensively on the defense by signing German international Malick Thiaw (22) from AC Milan.’
Such claims mark something of a surprise, with Real widely expected to reinforce their central defensive options through the signing of LOSC Lille sensation Leny Yoro this summer.
In addition, many of a Milan persuasion would no doubt argue that Thiaw’s form across his 2nd season with the club has actually fallen some way short of that during his first.
Nevertheless, it is reiterated that the stopper has ‘put himself on the wishlist’ of the La Liga leaders.
